This opera celebrates the struggle for freedom, evoking the spirit of the April Revolution. With music and libretto by Alexandre Delgado, it is an adaptation of the work by Sttau Monteiro, a landmark of 20th century Portuguese theatre. The Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra commissioned this opera to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April 1974. The next performances will be in Faro and Santa Maria da Feira.

 For me, music and singing are a necessity, a pleasure, a joy, a liberating form of expression and a bridge of connection with the Divine. 

Sandra Medeiros: Soprano

 Music and the piano are for me a state of Freedom... The fluidity and sound of the musical notes allow me to meet my self. Music is home, passion, struggle, poetry and culture. A zone of comfort, pleasure and safety. A constant dive into the interior of life. 

Vasco Dantas Rocha: Pianist

 Making music with my voice and body is an experience that fills my soul. I feel an intense vibration inside me, an overwhelming passion for the music and for the characters and poems. Emotions are universal and it's great to be able to share them in all languages ​​for the audience, as we are all unique. 

Silvia Sequeira: Soprano

 Singing is an act of deep connection with freedom and authenticity. I feel that my voice is more than just an instrument: it is a channel for releasing conditioning and a bridge to true freedom. And through singing I seek a holistic integration of all parts of my being. Singing is embracing life with lightness and gratitude; and that is the message of love and freedom that I want to share with the world through my art. 

Barbara Barradas: Soprano

 Singing for me is a physiological need, like eating or sleeping; and it's something I have to attend to. And following the path of the voice is finding myself and making peace with myself.
